Day 4: Embracing Our Role in Israel’s Salvation

As we move into Day 4 of our Isaiah 62 Fast, we want to focus on the important role that Gentile believers play in blessing Israel. The Scriptures reveal that Gentile believers play a unique role in Israel’s national salvation.

Day 4 Prayer Focus: Pray for the Gentile Church to understand their role in Israel’s Salvation

Scripture: Romans 11:17-24 (NKJV)

“And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

“You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?”

Today’s prayer focus:

  • Pray for Gentile believers to understand their identity as people grafted in.

  • Pray for the Gentile church in our nation to understand their role in blessing Israel and provoking unbelieving Jews to jealousy.

  • Pray for a revelation of the importance of Israel in God’s plan and the significance of the Jewish roots of our faith.

  • Pray for unity between Jewish and Gentile believers, as we work together to bring God’s kingdom on earth.

Scriptures you can pray from:

  • Genesis 12:3: “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

  • Deuteronomy 32:21: “They have provoked Me to jealousy by what is not God; they have moved Me to anger by their foolish idols. But I will provoke them to jealousy by those who are not a nation; I will move them to anger by a foolish nation.”

  • Romans 11:11: “I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles.”

  • Ephesians 2:14-15: “For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace.”

  • Isaiah 60:3: “The Gentiles shall come to your (Jerusalem’s) light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”

Other related Scriptures:

  1. Isaiah 60:10: “The sons of foreigners shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister to you; for in My wrath I struck you, but in My favor I have had mercy on you.”

  2. Isaiah 61:5: “Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the foreigner shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.”

  3. Isaiah 62:6-7: “I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”
